Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst will assist the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis in the development and implementation of annual financial plan (budget), forecast, multi-year financial plan and performs the day-to-day financial system administration.  The Senior Financial Analyst is an independent worker with strong analytical skills and applies critical thinking to identify and solve problems.  The right candidate for this role is highly motivated, detailed-oriented, well-organized, embraces change and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

Senior Financial Analyst: 

  • Prepare tentative, interim, and final budget submissions within established guidelines; review expenditures to ensure proper budget compliance.
  • Develop and manage financial budgets and forecast for all SG&A and clinical departments using trend reports, estimates, and recommendation from business owners.
  • Work with business owners to determine strategic and business needs and assist in financial modeling or reporting and explain the budget process as needed.
  • Develop and maintain monthly financial reports to clearly communicate actual results and variances to budget and forecast to department and business owners.
  • Produce clear and well-formatted analysis and the ability to present results to senior management.
  • Assists in consolidating and formulating departmental budget templates.
  • Support monthly close process which includes review monthly expenditures to ensure proper GL coding.
  • Work with Accounting team and business owners when coding reclass is necessary.
  • Approve requisitions and offer letters for new hires and replacement hires.

 

 

Financial System Administrator (Prophix):

  • Daily / monthly load process, including tasks such as: data imports/exports, load review, tie-outs to GL, allocation process oversight, adding new attributes and updating financial cubes.
  • Provide end-user training and address queries.
  • Maintain access and security levels for system users; comply with SOX requirements.
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Ensure data quality in load of new plan and forecast scenarios.

 

 

Position Requirements:

  1. Experience:
    1. Minimum 5-8 years of finance, budget and accounting experience
    2. Minimum 3-5 years of performance management software experience for budgeting, forecasting, planning, and reporting tool, preferably Prophix 
    3. Advance proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  1. Education/Licensure:
    1. Bachelor of Science in Business or Accounting from four-year college or university required
  2. Other:
    1. Knowledge of principles and practices of finance administration in accounting, budgeting, and auditing.
    2. Knowledge of healthcare operations and services.
    3. Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations.
    4. In-depth understanding of financial information and organizational data flow and its use in management decision-making.
    5. Interpret and explain budget policies and procedures.
    6. Prepare clear and concise reports.
    7. Ability to work in high-pressure situations, meet deadlines, multi-task, adapt procedures and systems to meet changing needs in a fast-paced environment.
    8. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
    9. Great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    10. Proven management and organization skills.
    11. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
    12. Must demonstrate attendance sufficient to complete the duties of the position as required
    13. Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations; communicating with others; reading and writing; and operating assigned equipment.
    14. Maintain mental capacity which allows the capability of making sound decisions and demonstrating intellectual capabilities.
