Position Title: Membership and Eligibility Coordinator

External Description:

The Membership and Eligibility Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the Membership and Eligibility Department.  Responsible for performing daily duties, coordinating with vendors, running daily reports, scanning department documents and ensuring the efficient operation of the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(May include but are not limited to:)

  1. Responsible for the daily tracking of incoming member correspondence in, EZ-Member database, and assignment to an Membership Rep.
  2. Will keep inventory of department supplies as well as ordering of the supplies as needed.
  3. Maintain accurate and current records of required documentation in support of both departments.
  4. Ensure storage room is maintained and organized.
  5. Responsible for communicating with the all vendor files.
  6. Maintaining postage proof for all department mailings.
  7. Responsible for downloading files in EZ-Member as well as uploading the files of the Welcome packets and id cards to the mailing house FTP site on a weekly basis or as needed.
  8. Responsible for scanning and indexing of all documents for each enrolled or disenrolled member. As well as maintaining track of all members scanned from each batch.
  9. Responsible for the tracking of all boxes forward to King Data.
  10. Ensure all department invoices are verified and processed on a timely basis.
  11. Maintain Department miscellaneous files in an organized fashion as well as create files as needed.
  12. Working with the Marketing Department in ordering materials for the Welcome Packet or any other mailing.
  13. Will assist with Department mass mailings.
  14. Any other duties as assigned by Membership Director or Manager.

Qualifications

  1. Education and/or Experience:  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  None required.
  3. Other Qualifications: 
    1. Knowledge of Medi-Cal, Commercial, and Medicare Managed Care Plans.
    2. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
    3. Basic Computer Skills, 25 WPM (Microsoft Outlook, excel, word)
    4. 10-Key by Touch

Skills and Abilities

  1. Language Skills:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  2. Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  3. Reasoning Skills:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. 
    1. Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
